![]() ![]() If someone wants font only patch without the AI stuff, I shared it long ago in the game's thread in here. Also I did tried to upscale all actual "maps"(the ones where scenes can be selected), but gave up on extra story maps as there are just too many of them and takes ages to enter-leave-repeat to dump all of their textures c. Installation will not work for the buggy english patch nor spanish patch as they messed up param.sfo, it will however mostly work on unpatched japanese extra edition version of the game, some UI text will not be replaced through.Īdditionally you can use my enhancement patches from this post.ĭumped textures only from few different maps so might not have all environments, I forgot how many there are in this game p. Run the game patched by the above fan translation, then close it and drag and drop or open zip to/from PPSSPP, it'll ask if you want to install so just confirm. fan translation patch it was made for (not the buggy one which most people uses). Also even with it mostly being machine translation it was still a few hours of work and some manual corrections which could help someone else.įun fact, first thing I tried to scale up was the "clock" showing turns left and my first impression was "horrible" as it couldn't even made a nice circle shape, but then I tried it in game and actually liked how it looked.Īlso a bunch of the textures here could be replaced by much nicer looking VC4 textures, but I don't want to share any potentially copyrighted stuff from different game released on modern platforms. ![]() Sharing in this state mostly because I might forget about it in the near future, just completed VC4 to 100% and that's pretty much the only reason why I checked VC3 again. Some textures actually look great, some so-so at best, others are horrible or have problems like seams or glowing borders and need to be manually corrected or removed. So what do you guys think? Should SEGA still localize the Unrecorded Chronicles or should it forever be Unrecorded (at least in the West)? Let us know in the comments below.Just my intial font replacement mixed with lazy machine upscaling. They could even decide to go for a crowdfunding project for the localization and it’ll most likely reach the goal within a matter of days. While the option to pirate the game is something that can tempt most people, it would still be nice for SEGA to release an official localization for it in order for us to support the series out in the West. The translation has been around for a long time so it should be quite easy to find it. However, all is not necessarily lost as one can always play Valkyria Chronicles 3 on the PSP in English fan translated text, this is assuming that these are people who don’t care if they have to pirate the game to play it. In fact, if they decide to release it for the PSVita, then it could probably be right up there with Persona 4 Golden as one of the best games the handheld could ever offer. It may nearly be a decade old but there are still plenty of Western fans of the Valkyria series who would undoubtedly support it if there ever to be an English localization. There is also a chance that we will also be introduced to returning characters from Valkyria Chronicles 3 and the game might just assume that we already know who they are or what they did. For those of you who are interested, there are 2 OVA episodes of Valkyria Chronicles 3 that can help give you an insight into what the game is about. Basically, our understanding of the lore and other elements that could affect the plot will be lacking. We also need to take into account that when Valkyria Chronicles 4 is released, there are going to be events that will be mentioned where we’ll have no way of knowing about their importance since their origin will be coming from Valkyria Chronicles 3. While the 1st was hailed as the best SRPG game of the PS3 according to the Guinness Book of Records, the 2nd fell short of the expectations of the developers, which in turn made them wary of localizing the 3rd game (though I honestly loved the 2nd from start to finish). The reason why the 3rd game was never localized was because of how poor the sales were for it’s predecessor Valkyria Chronicles 2. Valkyria Chronicles 3 is set around the same time as Valkyria Chronicles 1 except with an entirely different cast composed of criminals, foreign deserters, and military offenders which basically makes them outcasts of the Gallian military. I think I speak for everyone about how excited we all are for the upcoming Valkyria Chronicles 4! However, let’s not forget that there are still plenty of us who have yet to play for themselves the beautiful and incredibly amazing PSP game Valkyria Chronicles 3. ![]()
